1. Ensure Australia's continued elite sporting success
Establish more meaningful relationships between institutes, associations, clubs etc at all levels. at the moment, those at higher levels appear to merely ""feed off"" the underlings.
2. Better place sport and physical activity as a key component of the Government's preventative health approach
Provide more resources to the pathways which lead to the production of higher achievements. Provide greater encouragement for young people to participate at the basic levels, and lessen the possibility of parents being embarrassed financially.
3. Strengthen pathways from junior sport to grassroots community sport right through to elite and professional sport
Provide a greater percentage of available funding to regional and district levels. Give more consideration to selected ""lesser sports"".
4. Maintain Australia's cutting edge approach to sports science, research and technology
No response
5. Identify opportunities to increase and diversify the funding base for sport through corporate sponsorship, media and any recommended reforms, such as enhancing the effectiveness of the Australian Sports Foundation
Further emphasise the benefits of participation to the corporate people and to the community generally.
